Steve Metcalf lives in Durham with his wife Catherine and their border collie/teaching assistant, Meg. Steve has a lifelong passion for all animals great and small, and is often compared to Doctor Dolittle due to his unique connection and natural understanding of animals. Dogs have always been a major part of Steve’s life; not only as treasured family members, but also as an agricultural student Steve had the pleasure of working with farmers and shepherds, which sparked his love of border collies. In more recent years Steve is a member of The Guild of Dog Trainers and has had the privilege to have worked with and gained experience from some amazing people in the dog training world. Steve believes that the rewards from training and developing dogs for a healthy and harmonious life are second to none.
Steve offers a wide range of training services, including; obedience training teaching a dog to heel, sit, lie down, recall. As well as crate training, toilet training, separation anxiety, digging the garden etc. At present training is offered on a one to one basis at the clients home or a nearby outdoor space.
Steve is a firm believer of positive reinforcement in his training methods.
